Setting up Virtual Cameras using Cinemachine

A Virtual Camera is a type of camera unique to Cinemachine which can be used to create intricate shots and gameplay elements. You can add the Cinemacine Virtual Camera component to an empty GameObject or bring it into your scene as an object on its own. Let’s take a look at some of the things that will make your life easier when you’re starting out with Cinemachine’s virtual cameras!

Objective: Learn how to add virtual cameras and how to accurately and efficiently point them in the right direction(positioning them).

Adding Virtual Cameras

Right-click on your Hierarchy to access Cinemachine → Virtual Camera

Tagging for Visual Clarity

If you want to be able to tell your virtual cameras apart or easily identify them within your scene, you can add a colored tag like so:

Easy Precise Positioning

To position your camera with utmost accuracy, you can align it with your scene view. So, however, you place yourself in the scene will be the same exact view you get in your camera.

You can add multiple cameras each with its own unique perspective, and you can get an isolated view of each lens by clicking on Solo in the Inspector.
